How do I manage subscriptions on my Wise card?

Wise helps you track subscriptions and recurring payments made with your Wise debit card. You can view upcoming and past payments, and block future recurring charges from a merchant whenever you need to.

You can manage these payments by going to Payments and selecting Recurring card payments in your Wise app or on the website.

What is a subscription on my Wise card?

A subscription is a payment a merchant charges repeatedly to your Wise card. Common examples include:

  • Streaming services and app subscriptions

  • Gym memberships and software plans

  • Travel memberships

  • Free trials that convert into paid plans

How do I view my active subscriptions?

You can view active subscriptions across all your Wise cards in two ways:

  • Go to Payments and select Recurring card payments in your Wise app or on the website.

  • Open your transaction details for an active subscription payment and select its frequency.

What do the subscription statuses mean?

StatusWhat it means
ActiveThe merchant may charge your Wise card again. Check with the merchant if you are unsure when your next payment will occur.
InactiveNo further charges are expected. This happens if the subscription is blocked, cancelled, or the merchant has stopped charging your card.
Upcoming paymentThe merchant may charge your Wise card soon, based on previous payments. The date and amount may change if the merchant adjusts their billing schedule or pricing.

Can I cancel a subscription in Wise?

Wise can help you block future recurring card charges from a specific merchant on a subscription, but blocking a charge in Wise does not cancel your subscription agreement or contract with the merchant.

To cancel the service or contract, or to request a refund, contact the merchant directly.

Blocking a subscription only stops recurring charges for that specific subscription. You can still use your Wise card for other purchases with the same merchant.

What should I do if I don't recognise a subscription?

First, check if you recently signed up for a free trial or paid a new merchant. The billing name shown in Wise might differ from the brand name you know.

  • If you recognise the merchant: Contact them directly to cancel the subscription, stop the service, or request a refund. You can also block future recurring payments in the Wise app by going to Payments, selecting Recurring card payments, and choosing Block subscription.

  • If you don't recognise the merchant or suspect fraud: Freeze your card immediately and contact Wise support. Learn more about fraudulent card payments

Will freezing my card stop my subscriptions?

Freezing your card stops all card payments while your card is frozen. While this can provide temporary help, we recommend cancelling your contract directly with the merchant.

To stop a specific subscription from charging your card in the future, use the subscription blocking option in the Recurring card payments section.
