Sending to MXN

Who can I send MXN to?

You can send MXN to most bank accounts in Mexico.

You can't send money to the following bank accounts, as they won't be able to process your payment:

  • BanCoppel (CLABE starts with 137)

  • Caja Popular de Mexico (CLABE starts with 677)

  • Banco Azteca (CLABE starts with 127)

  • CI Banco S.A., Institución de Banca Múltipe (CIBanco)

  • Institución de Banca Múltiple (Intercam)

  • Vector Casa de Bolsa S.A. de C.V. (Vector)

You can also send money to your recipient's debit card details and the money will be deposited to the account linked to the card. You can't send money to businesses or charities using this method.

What information do I need about my recipient?

You’ll need their full name, address when sending from certain currencies (e.g. USD — we'll ask you when you setup your payment), and 18-digit CLABE. This is made up of a 3-digit bank code, 3-digit branch office code, 11-digit account number, and 1-digit control digit.

For personal recipients you can also provide an 18-character registry code (CURP) and for business recipients a 12-character Tax ID (RFC).

Debit card recipients

You'll need the cardholder’s full name, 16-digit card number, and you need to select the issuing bank. If you're unsure about which bank to choose, check with your recipient first to avoid the payment getting rejected.

If you don't see your recipient's bank on the list, that means we don't yet support debit card payments to that bank.

How much can I send?

You can send up to the equivalent of 1,000,000 GBP per transfer.

How much you can send also depends on what currency you're sending from, so check the relevant currency article for more information.

How long does it usually take for the money to arrive?

Once Wise receives and converts your money, it usually takes 0–1 working days to arrive in your recipient’s bank account. Conversion can take up to 2 working days. If you're sending to a debit card, the money usually arrives instantly.

We'll always show you a delivery estimate when you set up your transfer.
