You can receive PayNow payments from senders in Singapore if you have a Singapore dollar (SGD) account details. This applies to both personal and business accounts.
There are two ways to receive payments via PayNow:
PayNow Virtual Payment Address (VPA)
PayNow QR code
What is a PayNow VPA?
A PayNow Virtual Payment Address (VPA) is a unique identifier that can be linked to your Wise account. Unlike PayNow identifiers linked to bank accounts (such as a mobile number, NRIC, or UEN), a VPA combines your mobile number or UEN with #WISE.
VPA format
Personal accounts: +[Country code][Mobile Number]#WISE
For example: +6591234567#WISE or +66123456789#WISE
International mobile numbers are permitted
Business account: UEN[Business UEN]#WISE
For example: UEN202312345A#WISE
To link a VPA, your registered Wise address must be in Singapore. Wise currently only supports PayNow VPA — you cannot link your mobile number, NRIC, or UEN directly to your Wise account.
How to link or unlink your VPA
To link your VPA:
Go to Account details under Everyday account on your Home screen
Select Singapore dollar
Select PayNow
Once linked, anyone can initiate a transfer to your VPA using the PayNow to VPA option in their banking app or any other PayNow supported app. Received payments go directly to your Wise SGD currency.
To unlink your VPA: Follow the steps above, then select Manage PayNow > Manage > Deregister PayNow.
What is PayNow QR?
A PayNow QR code is a unique code linked to your Wise account. Anyone with a PayNow-supported app can scan your code to pay you.
How to find your PayNow QR code:
Option 1: Go to Account details under Everyday account on your Home screen > Singapore dollar > PayNow
Option 2: Go to Everyday account on your Home screen > SGD currency > Request > Get PayNow QR code
What your sender sees when scanning:
If you linked a VPA: Your masked full name
If you haven't linked a VPA: Wise Asia-Pacific Pte. Ltd.
If you have already linked a PayNow VPA to your Wise account, your payer will see your masked full name as the recipient once they scan your PayNow QR code.
If you haven’t linked a PayNow VPA to your account yet, your payer will see 'Wise Asia-Pacific Pte. Ltd.' as the recipient.
What are my PayNow limits?
You can use your PayNow details to receive up to 200,000 SGD per transfer. There’s no limit on how many transfers you can receive per day.
Personal Wise account (Singapore address)
You can't hold more than the equivalent of 20,000 SGD across all of your currencies by 00:00 SGT at the end of the day. This is because we’re regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) under the Payment Services Act. Read more here.
Money held or moved into Interest or Stocks doesn’t count towards your holding limit.
Business Wise accounts (Singapore address)
There’s no limit to how much you can hold in any currency for Wise Business account holders with an address in Singapore.
What if my payment didn’t arrive?
PayNow transfers are credited to your SGD balance shortly after your sender pays.
If they make a mistake — ask them to send you a proof of payment showing the details of their sent payment. You can then upload this proof of payment under I'm expecting money, but it hasn't arrived yet.
